A summary of the March Vestry Meeting

St. Paul’s Vestry met at 4 PM on March 17th, 2016.

    Treasurer’s Report:

Year to date results are modestly ahead of the Church’s budget, which given the time of the year reflects negative cash flow. At the same time our liquidity position continues to be excellent with more than adequate resources to meet foreseen operating and capital needs.

    Every Member Canvass:

We continue to receive EMC pledge cards and payments and expect to meet the goals established last year.

    Summer Soiree and Silent Auction:

The Summer Soiree will include a Silent Auction. Cathy Ward and Nancy Newhouse have agreed to solicit donations for the Auction.

    Inreach Minsitry

Sara Jones will Chair this new ministry intended to increase communications among members of the Congregation. When successful, we’ll all better know one another.

    Vestry Retreat:

The Vestry Retreat will be held on May 14th.

    Community Outreach:

The lease with the Lighthouse School was approved and the Vestry also approved the use of Gardner Hall for a two day meeting of the Alliance for Substance Abuse and Prevention. Beverly Hall and Cece Fowler will organize a summer lecture series on the theme of “The Spirit of Our Age”

The meeting opened and closed with prayers and reflections from Stacey Stuart.
