10.10.16 | Vestry Actions | by Pam Goddard

A summary of actions taken by the Vestry at the October meeting.

St. Paul's Vestry met at 4:00 on Thursday, October 13, 2016.

    Treasurer's Report: Frank Robinson

Year-to-date:  As of September 30, 2016, our ordinary income for the calendar year was $404,908 compared to the budget of $357,350 and our ordinary expenses were $340,564 compared to the budget of $394,800.  The positive result is in major part attributable to the accounting change, effected in August, which includes in this year’s ordinary income almost $90,000 of pledges for 2016 that were prepaid in 2015.

Remember that 2017 pledges prepaid this year will be not be recognized in 2016 income and instead will be deferred to January 2017.

    CPC: Dual Macintyre

The CPC meeting today to consider the tower proposal was a "fact-finding" meeting presided over by Ken Beaugrand.  The next step is the CPC recommendations, which will be made public in December.

    EMC: Pam Goddard

September results are promising with 25% more cards returned than the same time in the  2016 campaign. 40% of these pledges were increased; 22% did not return a pledge card last year, even after a follow up campaign.

    Fellowship: Stacey Stuart

This year's Christmas Luncheon will be a December 11 potluck brunch in Gardner Hall, rather than lunch at a restaurant in hopes of making the event more accessible to our congregation. Donations/contributions to A Safe Place will again be accepted.

    Annual Meeting: John Beach

The next Annual Meeting of St. Paul's Church will be on January 22, 2017.

    Executive Committee Report: Stacey Stuart

Nominating Committee: A notice to the parishioners will go out to ask for any nominations to the vestry.

    Rector's Time: John Beach

Worship: Next congregational meeting October 30, 2016

Outreach: Vicki Goss will chair the Outreach Committee.

Children & Youth: October 30 will be the next Children's Service and the Ecumenical Youth Group Supper and Ghost Walk.

The meeting opened and closed with reflections from Stacey Stuart.
