The Memorial Garden was funded by generous memorial gifts from almost 100 of St. Paul’s Church's friends and families. This created a sacred space where one could celebrate the lives of loved ones who have died. In this natural setting, we can emphasize the Easter message of hope and new life. As the garden has evolved, a large number of parishioners, island landscape professionals, and amateur gardeners have contributed their time, ideas, and gardening expertise. It has also become a garden to be enjoyed by our parish, as well as the entire Nantucket community.Originally the names of those interred in the Garden were engraved on the walls of above the Garden, now names are engraved on a granite plaque that is adjacent to the Garden/bronze plaque in Gardner Hall near the Daume entrance. Arrangements for interment of the ashes in the Memorial Garden may be made by contacting the
Church Office. Details of the cost and process of having a name engraved on the granite plaque may be obtained from the Church Office. The proceeds from these fees produce and income that help support and maintain the garden.
