Vestry Actions, February 201702.13.17 | Vestry Actions | by Pam GoddardA summary of actions taken by the Vestry at the February meeting.St. Paul's Vestry met at 4PM on Monday, February 13, 2017 John Beach welcomed new members to the vestry – Robert Inglis, Larry Smith, Scott Widmeyer and Deborah Beale. WELCOMING TO NEWCOMERS/GROWING THE CHURCH: John Beach A plan for welcoming new members and how to greet was discussed. TREASURER'S REPORT: Frank Robinson New accounting method by which prepayments from 2016 were deferred to 2017 resulted in January 2017 ordinary income exceeding ordinary expenses. This margin is likely to be reduced in February. WARDEN'S REPORT: Stacey Stuart Cushions for Church Pews – A proposal for cushions for church pews was presented. Discussion followed, and a vote was taken; two voted no with the remaining voting yes. RECTOR'S REPORT: John Beach Ministries of Committee – It was proposed that we presently ask all members of the vestry to become involved on a committee. NEW BUSINESS: Martin McKerrow mentioned that he has been working on the website. He has added “Reflections from the Rector”. These will be thoughts, ideas, and occasional comments from John. Suggestion was made that the vestry read the website from time to time. Larry Smith heard the other day that Deanna McCormick was starting up a youth group, and he passed along a big thanks to her. Reminder that Tuesday, February 28 is Pancake Supper. Frank will connect with the Brazilian Marshal Arts Community to make sure they are aware that Gardner Hall has many different events happening. If something comes up, please alert Frank so he can let them know as soon as possible. The meeting opened and closed with reflection's by John Beach.
