Proposed Revisions to St. Paul’s Bylaws
Special Congregational Meeting on July 23, 2017
On July 23, 2017, the members of St. Paul’s attending a special meeting of the Parish beginning immediately after the 930 am service will be asked to approve revisions to the existing bylaws that have been in effect since 2002.
The principal changes would eliminate the distinction between the two Wardens – “senior and junior” – a distinction not observed at St. Paul’s for several years, create an executive committee of the Vestry, require that notice of the annual meeting and any special meeting of the Parish be given by electronic means calculated to reach all the members of the Parish, and add a conflict of interest provision.
The revised version generally tracks the Model Bylaws of the Diocese with few changes. Because the existing 2002 bylaws and the proposed revision are organized differently, an electronic comparison is not provided. Copies of the proposed revised bylaws and the existing 2002 bylaws have been posted on this website.
If the revised bylaws are approved at the Parish meeting, they will be forwarded to the Standing Committee of the Diocese and the Bishop for their approvals that are required for the revisions to become effective.
