Peter Barnes
Peter Barnes is a summer resident of Nantucket with his wife, Cheryl. Lifelong Episcopalians, they were married at St. Paul’s in 1990 and were summer residents and parishioners. In his church life at their previous home in Virginia, Peter was an usher, lay minister, vestry member, annual stewardship campaign co-chair and senior warden at Grace Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA. Peter earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State and and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business. He worked at multiple news organizations, including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Fox Business Network and Bloomberg News before retiring in 2019. Peter and Cheryl are authors of numerous children’s books, including an island favorite, Nat, Nat, the Nantucket Cat. They have two daughters and four grandchildren who love Nantucket as much as they do.
