Toby Broadus

Long time summer residents, Toby and his wife, Anne moved to Nantucket from Baltimore, MD in June of 2023. Toby retired after thirty years of teaching from his position of Classics Department Chair at Gilman School, where he served concurrently as the scheduler for the Upper School. Toby holds a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College and a Masters of Liberal Arts from Southern Methodist University. In Baltimore, he served on the boards of The Young Victorian Theatre Company, The Maryland SPCA, and the Bryn Mawr School. He currently serves on the Nantucket Cottage Hospital Advisory Committee. Anne is Head of Lower School at the Nantucket New School. Their two children, Tom and Meredith, are living in Boston. When not taking care of his two Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Toby enjoys attending Midweek Music and the Bible Study sessions.
