WIth Bulletin for July 25 Services

July 25, 2021

Dear St. Paul’s Church Family,

“Time flies when you are having fun.” That truism is more obvious than usual to me this summer. Especially after last year’s restrictions, it seems as if the season has just begun and already our families are making back-to-school plans and some of our snowbirds are setting departure dates. Yikes! In the midst of the island’s busyness, I am trying to be intentional about stopping to smell the roses, or at least lingering and gazing at Olly’s hollyhocks and the natural beauty all around us.

Just a reminder that our Sunday morning 8:00 o’clock Eucharist gathers in the Memorial Garden, but moves inside if it rains. Last week our outdoor service was punctuated with one boom of distant thunder, a dramatic dismissal. We are inside our well ventilated church for the 9:30 service, which we will continue to broadcast. Stay safe, see you at church

Blessings,

Max

Music Meditation        My Song is Love Unknown Vocalists

Text: Samuel Crosman (1623-1683)                         Joseph Gioe

Music: Mark Schweizer (1956-2019)

My song is love unknown, My Savior’s love to me; Love to the loveless shown, That they might lovely be. O who am I, that for my sake My Lord should take, frail flesh and die? Christ came from heaven's throne Salvation to bestow; But people scorned, and none the longed for Christ would know: But O! my Friend, my Friend indeed, Who at my need His life did spend. Here might I stay and sing, No story so divine; Never was love, dear King! Never was grief like Thine. This is my Friend, in Whose sweet praise I all my days could gladly spend.
